I think the word "queer" means something or someone that is a bit strange.

Good question.

The word used to mean strange, then it became a derogatory word for a homosexual.

Then the word "gay" used to mean happy, now is a less derogatory word for a homosexual.

I love words and their changes.

The word "gay" is sometimes used by teenagers to mean something that is annoying or not going right.
